Why should I tithe at all?
One of the hardest thing to do is to give up a portion of our earnings, especially during tough times or times of need. However, in Proverbs 3:9, God asks just that from us.
He asks for the first part of our earnings because He knows that we live in a world that revolves around money - our social status, our ability to provide for ourselves and our family and even our ranking at work is all based on money. It is one of the biggest strongholds in our lives and it's only when we learn to give it freely and with joy that we experience freedom from that stronghold.
Here at Grace, we believe that we need to give God 1st place in every aspect of our lives - including our finances.  Through tithing, we are giving the first part of our income back to God in an act of obedience and worship - He has blessed us with our paychecks (no matter the size) and we need to bring Him glory in that blessing. When we tithe we show God our obedience, our trust in His provisions and that we're self-controlled.
The money that Grace collects through tithes and offerings is used to keep the church running - operational costs, bills, ministry budgets are all paid for with your tithes and offerings. However, we firmly believe that God will provide for the church no matter what and we only want you to tithe if you are being told to by God himself and if you are able to give joyously.
